Cross-wedge rolling line
Highly specialized, metal saving, highly efficient class of equipment is used for forming of axisymmetric parts under the pressure by altering their cross-section by the method of cold, warm (t=500 - 700°C) and hot (t=1000 - 1250°C) rolling.
Cold cross-wedge rolling is used mainly for the manufacture of axisymmetric parts, allowing the molding pressure at normal temperatures and compressions (the ratio of the largest diameter to the smallest). Typical advantages of cold rolling are: improvement of strength properties as a result of strain hardening, high dimensional accuracy, almost the final shape and high quality of the surface of the part.
Warm rolling is used for production of finished parts or preforms with minimum stock for further machining (grinding). The dimensional accuracy and surface quality are insignificantly lower than in cold rolling, but the list and the size of manufactured parts is more.
Hot rolling is applied to form complexly-shaped parts with a 4-5 draft ratio for one travel. Dimensional accuracy and surface quality are determined by wider tolerances, compared to cold or warm rolling, and as a rule, required further machining.
Cross-wedge rolling lines are used for producing of large parts, complex parts, high-precision parts, parts from the material which can be hardly deformed.
